This has been my favorite variety sudoku for over a decade. New games of each type offered daily on a set level. For example on Tuesday, you can play a moderate X, tough traditional, tough jigsaw, diabolical killer and moderate Kakuro. Easy games and even an Extreme level are offered on other days. Possibles can be set or cleared, if you want help or to solve the puzzle quicker. I do like another app :) sudoku+ that offers you hints for learning techniques of traditional sudoku while you play. I can then practice with more variety, the games I really enjoy such as X and jigsaw. Also there is no advertising, only the small fee for the app. Really great app, and right now no bugs as far as I can tell. ( I never submit my results so can’t comment on that).

I am unable to open a game the app just shuts down and closes. I am able to do practice puzzles though, I love this app and I do a puzzle every morning with my coffee so I miss it there is nothing like it —this is the best one ever.

I’m giving four stars because after years of trying other apps I always come back to this one because of the ease of use and puzzle variety. It’s been my favorite for several years. However, more recently there are daily puzzles that are not solvable. (And there’s no way to report this to the developers, that I can find. So, if they’re reading this…the 8/21/22 Jigsaw puzzle is one example) Sometimes it’s easy to spot when first looking, but when it’s not, it’s very frustrating to work so long on a puzzle with no solution. I’ve learned to accept it and move on (and spend less time on games anyway), but thought it worth mentioning here, so maybe the developers can address the issue. At this point, finding them has become another game! (Which would be satisfying if we could at least report them when we find them). Thanks!

Pity about the streak randomly resetting. Also, the scores do not differentiate between assistance and no assistance. Occasionally the program fails to start but this may have something to do with iOS updates. Pity the developers have abandoned this game.

Crashing today with all puzzles. What’s up?

I wrote this a while ago and the problem still exist. Today I can’t even get into any of the puzzles - as soon as you try to go into a game the game “closes” (basically while the game is open, the window is minimized.). There’s no way in. To add to the bugs below, I often have games where there’s no way to get rid of the hints without manually erasing each one. On the one hand, I play these puzzles every day, religiously. But MAN are there some bad bugs. With Kakuro if you’re playing and your phone goes to sleep or you leave the app for any reason, it will clear all of your work. It also defaults to hints on - I have to reset to clear them In all the puzzles, if you restart you get these doubled number choice area like the pen and pencil are on at the same time. For Sudoku X, if you decide to turn on hints or want to clear hints you manually set, that will also erase all your progress. The number of times I have to start over is ridiculous. I’ve been waiting for months for a new version to address them but enough is enough guys!!

Still a daily ritual for me. At least the puzzles are consistently working for me, although I haven’t been able to log in to submit my times for a couple months at least. Seriously the potential to be the best sudoku platform available. Please devote a little time to it or hand it off to a developer to fix.

Help! Would like to sign back in, unable to do that without FB. Frustrating new changes

Giving the choice of interface brings this back up to number one. This is my go to app for killing a couple of minutes. [August 22, 2020] finally annoyed enough to complain. When you go to settings (to, for example, set all possibles) it wipes all the progress you have made on the puzzle. This behavior started at least a year ago. I still think it is one of the best sudoku apps out there.

It’s so frustrating ... please fix it!

Not working on my iPad mini version 4. Tries to open but closes automatically on select game screen.

I play these puzzles everyday, but lately have been very frustrated. If anything interrupts the puzzle it resets. I certainly cannot sit and do every puzzle through without having to get up for many reasons. Please fix this!! This is an additional review 6/17/20 PLEASE fix the problem of the puzzle resetting each time you leave the game temporarily !

I’ve been playing daily for ages. Something happened about a month ago and now if I need to leave my partly done puzzle, even just by turning of my screen, when I return the progress I’ve made is erased. Please fix this. It makes me not want to start a puzzle.

Why does this app now make your game go POOF if there is any interruption during a game? I see other people are just as frustrated so why isn’t it fixed? I have been playing Cool Sudoko for years. Love that you added WordSearch but you really need to check out the games. I play this on one of the newest ipads. 1. Not all the words load so you can’t complete some of the puzzles. (Unless you can guess what the last words are)2. The Christmas puzzle has some words in the middle of the puzzle that some people may find offensive. 3. You have in the description on the new update that apparently you will at some point be charged for playing WordSearch unless you would like to submit puzzles but no explanation on how you can do this. 4. In the puzzle Flora the words Rose and Sunflower was listed twice but only once in the puzzle. 5. In Leafy vegetables - lettuce is spelled luttece. Didn’t want to submit this as a review but couldn’t find anywhere to email you.

Most egregious is data loss on partially worked puzzles (at least Killer & Jigsaw) with latest release. Frustrating. Clear possibilities doesn’t work on Kakuro. Shouldn’t come up by default anyway.

Any disruption of your screen and POOF all your work is gone!

I love this app, but the most recent update made it nearly unusable. Now anytime the screen switches (including incoming text notifications or incoming phone calls) the game completely resets. For longer more difficult puzzles this is “throw your phone” levels of frustrating.

Stopped working two days ago

Please update games have stopped loading. Love the variety of games but they are not quite complete words missing, some games just quit loading, have even had error games not loaded correctly

Do you ever go on and play your own game? Do you not know when it’s screwing up? Why does it take you six months after every update to figure out what the problems are? You make me crazy!!

Although this app had some problems it functioned reasonably well. And if you like variants of sudoku in which you can compete with others over the internet this is one of the better options. Or it was, until the latest update, which has made the app almost completely non functioning, at least on my iPad.

Can there be a “retro” mode to go back to the previous larger buttons? The new buttons are super unpleasant to deal with. I had to go find an ancient iPad2 in order to preserve any interest. This was a favorite app for many years until this very unpleasant change.

Keyboard is too small for even tiny fingers to tap. Constantly gives me possibles even though I untick the option again and again. Why ruin a decent app with an update like this??

I have been playing this for years, daily. Always typed in numbers to cells. Yesterday, suddenly, a new interface that only allows some kind of “auto” entry from tiny number buttons at bottom. No choice to use former method. The number buttons are way too small to quickly use, and require multiple steps vs just highlighting cell and entering number from keypad on I phone or iPad. Therefore, I am sorry that I will no longer enjoy this sudoku, and after years, will no longer use it.

The interface is a mess. Puzzles are already filled in. Selection buttons have been reduced to an unusable size (too small to tap). User controls have been changed in unhelpful ways. Please fix.

While I appreciate the daily puzzles, there are a few frustrating features about the user interface that prevent this from warning five stars. Could I possibly ask the developers to consider these updates? 1. The buttons for pencil and pen are very small and often do not respond to the first touch. I would recommend either of two fixes: a., make the buttons larger and move them to just above the row of numbers; or b., even better, have separate rows of pencil numbers and pen numbers. This would make playing much easier and more enjoyable. 2. Often when playing, one identifies multiple cells that could be a limited set of numbers (for example, the cells that at up to 24 must contain a 7, 8, and 9). But the app does not let players select multiple cells at once, forcing us to enter the same numbers in each cell--a process that, given the small buttons, often leads to mistakes. It would be very useful to be able to select multiple cells to enter pencil numbers.

Doesn't work with iOS 9 anymore. Did for a while, though I couldn't submit scores. Now it won't even download new daily puzzles. Guess I'll delete it. I'm not going to buy a new iPad just for this.

This was my favorite sudoku game but the daily puzzle submission hasn’t worked for over a week now. You can submit complete garbage and it just states “submission successful.”

I did the latest update. How do I access the new games? While you’re at it, the old games won’t connect and confirm that I completed the puzzle correctly. Other than Social Media this is the one app I use everyday, but it’s so frustrating because it works so infrequently.

The App is great when working. It was not broken when you “FIXED” the game. Now the game is “FIXED” AND “BROKEN”.

This is usually one of my favorite apps. But now it won’t connect. Couldn’t upload scores for a few days and now it won’t download puzzles.

In Killer Sudoku, I don’t seem to be able to switch between Pencil/Pen Mode.

I used to play every single day. But I’d love more/new puzzles to choose from. Also, the app was crashing recently, and now it’s been “fixed”, except it hasn’t. It no longer crashes, but you can’t switch between pencil and pen nor can you erase!!

Hopefully it’s fixed soon, I play almost every day - Update: The new fix isn’t helping for me. I have the iPhone XS Max. The buttons on the bottom of the screen aren’t working for me. I can’t switch between pencil/pen, clear, or reset 😕

New update renders the app useless! App can be opened but then once you touch the screen, it crashes. Very disappointed!

January 18 2019—app closes immediately after opening on my phone after update. It was working fine yesterday. If it didn’t periodically go crazy and become unusable, I would give it 20 stars. It’s one of the oddest, but most satisfying apps I ever used. When it works.

The update causes the app to crash as soon as I hit open. Could you please fix it?

Your update on 1/16 broke the app! Maybe more testing prior to rollout next time?

New update on 1/17/2019 loaded but will not start on my iPad 10. When I click the app, it flashes on then off.

Killer is not updating each day.

Used to be great. Now it is extremely buggy and new puzzles are not always provided daily. The original app and format were WONDERFUL. The updated version is mediocre at best and is very poorly maintained. GET WITH IT!

This is my favorite sudoku app because of the variety of puzzles that are available daily. The problems I am having are 2 of the puzzles aren’t working. Since I switched to iPad Pro, the 2nd (small) puzzle hasn’t worked, the 6 won’t register. The last few days, the killer sudoku puzzle doesn’t change. The old solved puzzle appears.

Why are the puzzles not being updated anymore? I've been waiting for a few days to open up your site to do my daily TH5 challenges! BUT IT'S BEEN THE SAME PUZZLES FOR A FEW DAYS! This site has been my favorite! PLEASE FIX THE GLITCH. (Feb. 3)JUST A FEW DAYS LATER, SINCE GLITCH WAS FIXED, IT HAPPENED AGAIN THIS MORNING!!! YOU HAD THE SAME PUZZLES AS YESTERDAY. Please attend to this issue permanently!!!

Been addicted to this version of Killer Sudoku and the puzzle of the day has become part of my daily routine! PleAse being if back!!!
